Mary Jennens

Mary Frances Jennens, 91, 315 W. 9th St., Rochester, passed away at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.

She was born May 30, 1919, in Fulton County, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Dickinson) McDougle. On May 26, 1940, in Rochester, she married William H. Deniston. He preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1981. She then married Albert W. Jennens on June 2, 1990, in Rochester, and he survives.

Mrs. Jennens had worked as a librarian at the Fulton County Public Library for many years. She was a member of and played the organ at the First Presbyterian Church for over 22 years and had also been a church elder. She was a member of Tri Kappa and enjoyed playing bridge.

Survivors include her husband, Albert W. Jennens, Rochester; her son, William Michael and wife Barbara Deniston, South Bend; her daughter, Marianne and husband Don Christenson, Rochester; her grandchildren, Cyle and wife Cris Wagoner, Zionsville, and Cory and wife Alicia Wagoner, Indianapolis; great-grandchildren Evan Wagoner and Katie Wagoner, Zionsville. Her sisters, Helen Smith, Indianapolis; Kathleen and husband Richard Downs, Calvert City, Ky.; and Jean Garber, Rochester, also survive.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Diane Deniston.

Memorial graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 25 at IOOF Cemetery, Rochester, with the Revs. Paul Nye and Ron Leichty officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Hope Hospice of Fulton County. Arrangements are by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Online condolences may be sent through zimmermanbros@rtcol.com.
