Biography

Ann May Brockett died at the age of 22. Her daughter was adopted at the age of 2, by George Washington Hall and his wife Jane. She had two sisters who married into the Hall Family. Details as follows: Her sister Frances Ellen Brockett married Josiah Hall, who was the brother of George Washington Hall. Her sister Elizabeth Jane Brockett married John R. Hall, who was the nephew of George Washington Hall. John R. Hall was the son of Elijah Hall, who was the brother of George Washington Hall.

When Edna May was adopted by the Hall Family, her name was changed to Grace Maybelle Hall. She didn't learn that she was adopted until after she was married. Upon this discovery, she decided to legally change her name back to Edna May McElroy, on December 3rd, 1928 - at the age of 50. All documentation after this date, reflects Grace Maybelle Hall's information, under the name Edna May McElroy. Grace/Edna was married to John E. Stewart, in 1895 and they had two children together; Earl and Clara.
