Life Sketch • Born about 1750 or 1751, possibly in Scotland. Fought in the Revolutionary War. Married Margaret Houston and had seven children who became prominent citizens and leaders of Tennessee of the first half of the 19th Century. His wife, Margaret Houston married Samuel Doak after Alexander's death. Margaret is buried in an unmarked grave near the grave of Samuel Doak in Salem Cemetery.
