Henry Francis was born about 1801. He is the son of Henry Magee.
Research NOTE:
A lot of online trees have this Henry Magee as born France, son of an Adam Mager. I haven't been able to find their source for this. Updated Research Note:
In 1910, Henry's Daughter Pheobe, says she was born 1828 in Nelson, Ontario. That is where Henry Francis Magee was living in 1824 when he applied for a land grant.
On the Necropolis Cemetery Source (listed below), it states that Henry Francis Magee was born in the United States - not in France. Which is what the 1824 land petition states as well.
Daughter Zelda in 1880 US Census, says her father was born in New York - which again is exactly what the 1824 land petition says.
1880 census, daughter Phebe says she is Irish (not French)
Therefore I believe this proves the Henry Francis Magee who married Clarissa Sumner, was born in New York State and of Irish descent (not born France) is the same Henry Francis Magee who applied for a land grant in 1824 and named his father. Also named in his father's 1815 Will.
Re: Henry's daughter: At her wedding notice in 1849, Zelda is called the fourth daughter of Henry and Clarrissa - so at least one more child missing. And there is a 10 year gap between Wm and Clara, so possibly some more born in that time frame as well. Too bad the 1851 Toronto Census is missing.
