Clarence Slaughter McKee was born in 1879 in Turkeytown, Etowah County, Alabama, United States, the son of James A. McKee and Mary A. McMahon. In the 1880 census Slaughter (age 11 months) was the son of James A. Mckee in Turkey Town, Etowah, Alabama, United States.[1]

In the 1900 U.S. Federal Census, he (age 19) was the single son of Mary McKee in Ballplay, Etowah, Alabama, United States.[2]

Slaughter married Edith Anna Scales (born in 1889 in Alabama) in Alabama. Their known children were:

  1. Paul Ernest McKee (1909–1984)
  2. Charles L. McKee (1911–1991)
  3. Robert Lee McKee (1916–2002)

In the 1910 U.S. Federal Census, he (age 30) was the married head of household in Ballplay, Etowah, Alabama, United States.[3]

In the 1920 U.S. Federal Census, he (age 39) was the married head of household in Election Precinct 5 Green Hill, Lauderdale, Alabama, United States.[4]

In the 1930 U.S. Federal Census, he (age 49) was the married head of household in Hokes Bluff, Etowah, Alabama, United States.[5]

In the 1940 U.S. Federal Census, he (age 60) was the married head of household in Hokes Bluff, Etowah, Alabama, United States.[6]

He, son of James A. Mc Kee, died (age 66) on 13 September 1945 in Gadsden, Etowah, Alabama, United States,[7] and was buried in Hokes Bluff, Etowah, Alabama, United States.[8]
