George was born about 1832. He is the son of William McKinney and Sarah Pittman.
He was married to Sarah Ann Sewell on 22 Jan 1853 in Pulaski Co, KY. Together they had 9 children: Dallas 1856; Giles B 1857; Serena 1860; Syronia J 1861; Sarah D 1863; Humphrey Logan 1867-1922; James Willis 1867-1952; Mary Elizabeth 1874-1929; Charles F 1878.
George is buried in the George Matt McKinney Cemetery in Vanhook, Pulaski Co, KY
