John was born 28 Feb 1900 at Goodwater, Red River, Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory [2], the son of Samuel McKinney and Eliza Dyer. John passed away 30 April 1962 at Broken Bow, McCurtain, Oklahoma. He is buried at the Philadelphia Cemetery, McCurtain County, Oklahoma.[3]
On 4 Jan 1900, Peter J Hudson was appointed Curator for John McKinney.[4][5][6]
