Obit The Buckey State News Paper 11 feb 1916. Eli McLaughlin aged 48 died at his home in Salem, Sunday after an illness of some time. Deceased was born at Nouth Georgtown June 6, 1868, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Levi McLaughlin. He was united in marriage with Mrs. Bella Mellon on August 21 1890, and to this union eight children were born.Survived by widow and the followilng children: Earl of this city, Mrs. AdabelMalloyof Appollo, PA, Carl of Salem, Jessie,Elsie,Ruth, Edna and Leroyall at home.Three Brothers and three Sisters also survive. Furneral; Tuesday 2o'clock, interment Hope Cemetery, Salem.

Eli was born 6 June 1866 in Knox Township, Columbiana, Ohio the son of Levi J. and Margaret Jane (Whiteleather) McLaughlin. He married Priscilla Bella Stoneman-Mellon in 1890. They had at least seven children. Eli died, aged 29, on 13 February 1916 in Salem, Columbiana, Ohio. ^[1]
