Biography

Finlay was born in 1832. He may have been the son of Allan McLennan and Catherine or Mary Matheson.^[1] (There were at least 4 Finlay McLennan's born in Ross and Cromarty in 1831/32) Finlay McLennan married Jane McDonald. They travelled to South Australia with their daughters aboard the 'Schah Jehan' in 1860.^[2][3] He passed away in 1894 and was buried in Dawson Cemetery (Protestant section).^[4][5][6][7]

Unable to find records for two children: Johanne (1864-1938) and Harriet (1878-1957).^[8] Jane's death notice refers to sisters Harriet and Joanna (Mrs Miller).^[9]
