BALLINA, Sunday. — The funeral of the late Mr. Harold Everton McLennan, who died suddenly at his home, Fishery Creek, Ballina, took place from the Methodist Church, Ballina to the Methodist portion of East Ballina cemetery, at the conclusion of a service conducted by Rev. E. Ferrier, who also conducted a service at the graveside. Both services were well attended by local residents and by residents from near and distant centres where he was well known. Mr. McLennan was born at Lismore 70 years ago and took up farming first at Georgica, and later banana growing on the Tweed River and Gympie. He was a keen rifle shot, and during his stay at Gympie, was captain of the local rifle club. For the past 23 years, Mr. McLennan was a dairy farmer at Fishery Creek, Ballina, where he had purchased a property. He is survived by a widow, two sons and one daughter. The sons are Messrs. P. and N. McLennan (Ballina), and the daughter is Miss Margaret McLennan (London). Mr. R. C. McLennan (Lismore) is a brother, and Mrs. M. Mitchell (Numulgi) a sister. Pall-bearers were Messrs. Ray McLennan, Norman McLennan (sons), A. Johnson, W. Brooks, G. Brooks, J. Brooks. Wreath carriers were Messrs. H. Rice, T. Sullick, G. Booth, K. Jones, R. McCully, D. Mitchell, S. H. Johnson. The funeral arrangements were carried out by C. Henderson, Ballina.^[5]
