Betty McLennan married Ian Dickson in 1949 in New Zealand.
She was a victim of the 2011 Christchurch Earthquake: the mother of three was killed when a brick wall from the first floor of a neighbouring building collapsed on Wicks Fish Supply. She died alongside owner Natasha Hadfield, who was serving her when the quake struck.
She can be seen just prior to her marriage in the 1949 electoral roll with her mother, Lillian Irene McLennan[1] in St Kilda, Otago.
Her parents had, at least, two other children.[2] Her father, Peter, died in 1929.[3] The 1949 roll also shows a Keith Roderick McLennan at the same address, likely another sibling. He died seven years later.[4]
