Mary Ann McMann was born August 30, 1834, the daughter of Capt Lawrence McMann, Jr and Mary Robinson of Saint John, NB[1][2][3]
On May 20, 1856, she married Dr. James Thomas Steeves, the son of Joseph Steeves and Martha Gross of Hillsborough, New Brunswick[4][3][5][6], and their children included:
Frank Hatheway, born circa 1858[5], who died while studying medicine in the US[7][3]
James Albert Edward, born circa 1861[5][6], who studied medicine at Columbia College[8], and was also an MD[3], and was married October 3, 1903[9]
George Stanley, born circa 1879, who died in infancy[18]
James Thomas Steeves died before March 3, 1897, the date on the burial permit[19][20], although online trees provide an April date.
Mary Ann (McMann) Steeves died August 4, 1923 in Saint John, NB[1]

STEEVES, medical superintendent of the Provincial Lunatic Asylum.
