Biography

Alexander was born 27 Jan 1820. He was the son of Alexander McMillan and Catharine Smith. He was baptised 1 Jun 1820 in New Scotland, Albany, New York.

Alexander married Margaret Van Schaack (1820-1897) about 1844. They had three children together:

1. Catharine Lavina McMillen, 1845-1890, m William McKown
2. Nicholas Van Schaack McMillen, 1849
3. Esmeralda McMillen, 1855

He passed away in 1860.

He has a Will dated 3 Feb 1860. In the Will, he mentions his beloved wife Margaret, his father-in-law, Aaron Van Schaack, his brother-in law, Robert Moak (1807-1889), and his three children: Lavina, Nicholas and Esmeralda.

Note: Robert Moak married Margaret Van Schaack McMillen before 1870.
