He married Sarah Graves at Thames, Waikato, New Zealand in 1872.[2] He worked as a commission agent at the time.[3][4]
Duncan later became a baker[5] before he and Sarah worked at Auckland as confectioners.[6]
Duncan passed away at Auckland in 1898.[7] He was buried at Purewa Cemetery.[8][1][9]
