Biography

James was born in 1860. He is the son of Duncan McNab and Agnes Miller. ^[1]

1861 Residence London Street, Calton, Lanarkshire, James age recorded as O years, his father Duncan age 28 occupation Cloth Lapper,his mother Agness Miller age 24, birthplace Renfrewshire, Siblings Helen age 5 and John age 3. All children and Duncan birthplace recorded as Lanarkshire. ^[2]

Note: Children's surname recorded as Mcnob instead of McNab

1867 His mother Agness died, she would have been about 29 years old.

1869 His father marries his 2nd wife Christina Morrison, marriage registered in Calton, Glasgow, Lanark.

1871 Residence Central, Lanarkshire, James age 10, and attending School (Scholar), his father Duncan age 37, occupation Cloth Finisher, his Step mother is Christina who is about 33. Siblings are Ellen aka Helen age 15, occupation Fancy Box Maker, Elizabeth 8, Scholar and John 5, Scholar. His half siblings are Hugh age 2 and Jessie age recorded as 0 years.
