Dewey was born in 1898. He is the son of Thomas McNally and Eliza Blanchet. [1]
"Paris, Ark., Aug 20.-- Dewey McAnally [sic], 36, former baseball player with Okmulgee, Bartlesville and Fort Smith, Western Association baseball clubs, died today in a Little Rock hospital. While with Okmulgee he was the most valuable player in the league. He was a pitcher and infielder."
There is some confusion over Dewey's date of birth. Several records support a birth date of 1898 and several a date of 1900. Dewey himself signed his World War I draft card as being born on April 23, 1898, but signed his marriage license as having been 26 in 1926.
