Marion, Indiana - June 24 - Dr. O. W. McQuown, age 56, prominent Marion physician and Grant County health officer, died last night of heart disease shortly after he had retired, at his home here.
Dr. McQuown was born in Shelby County and attended Indianapolis Medical College at Indianapolis.
He came to Marion in 1899 and for two years was connected with the medical staff of the former Soldier's Home for Civil War Veterans. He opened a private office in Marion in 1901 and had since practiced medicine here.
He was in the Army in World War 1 and at the Mexican border previously.
He served as Captain of the Marion Ambulance Company in the World War. He helped organize the Marion American Legion Post.
