Ethel (also Esther, Etty) May McRae, daughter of William McRae (abt.1843-1915) and Clara Catherine (Farmer) McRae (1858-1935), was born in 1886 in 177 Park St, South Melbourne, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.[1]

Ethel's husband Sydney died in 1914 and she married her brother-in-law James Oliver Sibly on 13 March 1917 in 142 Albert Rd, South Melbourne, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.[4] James brother William Libby Sibly had married Ethel's sister Lucy McRae in 1906. Ethel died on 16 August 1956 of "Coronary thrombosis, myocarditis, arteriosclerosis, hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT), bronchitis, tonsillitis" in 46 Parslow St, Malvern, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia at age 70.[5] She was buried on 17 August 1956 in Fawkner Cemetery, Fawkner, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.[6]
