Biography

Berry McSwain was born on October 18, 1822 in Rutherford County, North Carolina, United States, the son of David McSwain and Sarah Sussana (Hamrick) McSwain. He was the brother of Mary (McSwain) Bostic, William McSwain, Judith McSwain, Mary McSwain, Jane (McSwain) Lovelace and David McSwain.

William married Barbara Padgett. They had the following children:

  2. Larkin Arkansas McSwain (1849 - 1929)
  3. Coatsworth D. Hamrick (1854 - 1927)
  4. William Berry McSwain (1858 - 1920)
