Robert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Emigrated in 1856, and became a member of the Martin & Taylor Handcart Company migrating to Utah. Died of exposure and exhaustion at the Upper Crossing of the Platte River, near a place called Rock Creek Hollow. Early snow caught this company; the tragedy of their crossing is well known.
Robert and Margaret married 25 November 1833 in North Meols, Lancaster, England.[1] They had five children: three sons and two daughters. Two of their children died in infancy.
