George Meares (1829-1844) was the son of John Meares and Charlotte Owen.

He married Mary Poynder on the 30th of July 1861 at Southampton, Hampshire, England.

He lived at the Plis, Llansteffan, Carmarthenshire, Wales and 2, Stanhope Gardens, Bournemouth, Dorset, England.

He was Deputy Leiutenant (D.L.) and Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Carmarthenshire.
