Biography

Dinah Ann Meers was born on 23 May 1820[1] in Hall, Georgia, United States, daughter of William Meers (1794–1873) and Frances King Murphy aka Murphree (1800–1885).

Dinah (16) married James Madison Tate (20) (born about 19 December 1816 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States; son of William Tate Jr. and Mrs. Mary (Guyton) Tate) on 16 February 1837 in Hall County, Georgia, United States.[2] Their known children were:

  1. William Washington Tate (13 May 1838 – 29 May 1899) .
  2. Robert Hopson Tate (0 April 1842 – 0 January 1910) .
  3. James Lafayette Tate (24 February 1849 – 10 September 1913)

Dinah died on 30 October 1897 in Lamar, Johnson County, Arkansas, aged 77.[3]
