Hester Anna was born in Cape Town, Cape Colony on 25 July 1802; she was the daughter of Pieter Meiring and Johanna Elizabeth (Fischer) Meiring.

She married Robert Frederick Fanciscus Aling on 21 March 1821 in Drakenstein, Paarl:^[1]
