Biography

Abigail, daughter of John Mirick and his wife Abigail, was born on 10 April 1719 in Weston, Massachusetts.^[1] She was baptized in Weston on 7 June 1719, at "abt. 2 months old."^[2]

Marriage banns for Samuel Abbott and Abigail Mirick were published on 13 November 1737 at Weston, Massachusetts; listed as Samuel of Sudbury and Abigail of Weston.^[3] They were married at Sudbury, Massachusetts.^[4][5]

They were the parents of ten children, born in Sudbury, Massachusetts (in the section of town that later became East Sudbury and is now Wayland). She was living as of 24 September 1771, when her husband's estate was administered and she (his widow) was granted guardianship of the three youngest children.^[6]

She is memorialized on a stone in Lebanon Village Cemetery, Lebanon, Madison County, New York,^[7] but it is unlikely that she is buried there. The stone appears to be a cenotaph, commemorating family members who died too far away to have been buried there.
