The records of the First Church of Coventry, Connecticut, list the death of a John Ripley in February of 1781.[7] There is then a death record from the same church for the "Widow of J. Ripley," who died December 25, 1809, aged "95 years."[8] It seems plausible that this record could be for our Mary since her cited age at death matches with her known birth date, and "J. Ripley" could well be the John Ripley who was a member of the same church. (See also Research Notes)

Research Notes
Death: A death date of March 20, 1798, has been attributed to Mary, but this date appears to have been taken from the Find a Grave Memorial of Mary (Messenger) Brace. Various death places in Connecticut and New York have been posted using that date, none have been verified.
