Biography
Private David Messenger served with 18th Regiment, Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.
David was born in 1760. He was the son of Nathaniel Messenger and Eleanor Griffin.
David Messenger served in the Revolutionary War. Regiment: 18th Regiment of Militia (Commanded by Jonathan Pettibone). Captain Samuel Hays (Hayes) Company, from August 22 to September 25, 1776, serving in New York.
He married Hannah Higley (1758–1815). They had the following children:

Hannah Messenger 1788–1854
David Messenger Jr. 1790–1881
Samuel Messenger 1792–1792
Campbell Messenger 1793–1866
Harriet Messenger 1796–1881

He passed away in 1811. Buried at Old Colony Burying Ground, Granville, Licking County, Ohio.
