ACCIDENT.-On Friday, Anniversary Day, a party of lads among whom was one named. Henry Mester, son of Mr. O. Mester, of this town went out on a shooting jaunt. When three or four miles from town and in the neighbourhood of Mr. J. Kennedy's, Inglewood, heavy rain came on causing the party to take shelter under a tree. Young Mester was resting the muzzle of his gun on his left foot, when by some means the weapon went off, the charge passing through the large toe of the foot. The boy's companions had some difficulty in getting the wounded.lad to Mr. Kennedy's, over a nmile off, where a buggy was soon in readiness and other kindness shown. While coming into town the back seat of the buggy gave way, throwing two of the occupants out, but without injury. Dr. Newtown attended the wounded foot, taking off the toe at the first joint, The patient is doing fairly well.
