Miriam Gene Metcalf was born 05 March 1927 in Geneva, Geneva County, Alabama, United States.^[1][2] She was the daughter of Thomas Lafayette Metcalf and Mary Frances (Fleming) Metcalf (1908-1980).^[3]

She was possibly married as many as five times; to Emory Hinely Fitts on 14 Jun 1947 in Coral Gables, Dade County, Florida, divorced May 1965,^[7][8][9]; to Petersen; to Hanson; to Albert Chidley in Dec 1969 in Dade County, Florida^[10]; and to Boardman.^[3]
