Lena Rebecca Metzger was born on 6 August 1873 in Summerfield, Somerset County, Pennsylvania and died 10 November 1947 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.^[1]

Marcus Metzger (43), pit boss at coal works, and his wife Mary (33), on Morgantown Street with their children, Bessie (10),May (8), Lena (7), Helen (4), and John W, 7 months old, born in October 1879. Bessie, May and Lena attended school within the census year, All were born in Pennsylvania except Bessie and May, both born in Iowa. Mary reported her father was born in Massachusetts.^[2]
