Frederick Herbert was born around 1890 and is the son of John Edward Meyer and Mary Jane (unknown) - no birth was found in NSW BDM records
Frederick enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces during WWI. He was a Private in the 2 Infantry Battalion - 13 to 23 Reinforcements. He embarked on the 'SS Port Nicholson' in November 1916 from Sydney. Frederick was 26 years old and a Missioner by occupation. His wife Ruby was his next of kin.[1]
The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954) Sat 27 Feb 1937 - NEW RECTOR AT STANMORE. - The Rev. Fred H. Meyer, who for six years has been minister in charge of St. John's, Maroubra, has accepted the rectorship of St. Augustine's, Stanmore. He was inducted into the new parish by the Ven. Archdeacon Martin. After having served in the Great War, Mr. Meyer began his studies in theology at Moore College, Sydney, In 1924, where he gained his Th.L. diploma (second-class honours). He was ordained deacon in 1926, and priest in 1927. His first curacy was at All Souls', Leichhardt, at which church he acted as locum tenens in 1928-29. After this, he accepted the position of assistant secretary of the Bush Church Aid Society for Australia and Tasmania, and in 1931 went as curate of St. Nicholas', Coogee, with the special charge of Maroubra. In 1934, Maroubra was created a provisional district, and Mr. Meyer was appointed its first minister.[2]

He died at Mowll Retirement Village, Castle Hill, New South Wales[3]
