Biography

^[1] Michael Myers, Jr., born ca 1758/61, married Mary Nicholson 12 Jun 1779 in Rowan CO. Evidently Michael was a young man when he died because, according to court records on 6 Aug 1806, guardians were appointed for five of his nine children. That there were nine children is determined by guardianship accounts listing each heir with one-ninth part of his estate. One child has not been found. The remaining eight are:

i. Elizabeth Myers, born ca 1758/61, married Massey Thomas II on 23 Mar l802. The Thomases were from Culpeper Co., Virginia but were of the English Thomases. Her brother Henry Myers gave her marriage bond. ii. Henry Miers/Myers, born ca 1783/6, married Catharine Goss 20 Aug 1804. iii. Daniel Myers, with his wife Susanna Strange, sold land on Swearing Creek, Rowan Co, in 1824 to Henry and William McGuire and moved to Barren Co., KY. (this land was owned by William Strange and in his lifetime he devised it to his daughters, Susanna, wife of Daniel Myers, Margaret, wife of Henry McGuire, and Frances, wife of William McGuire.) re The following children had guardians appointed iv.William Myers. Efford Owen appointed guardian. v. Hannah Miers. Michael Holtshouser (uncle-in-law) appointed guardian and gave bond with Bostain Lentz for f200 as her guardian. Hannah married William Abbott 17 Feb 1 8 1 3 with Abraham Jacobs as bondsman and John Giles as a witness. vi.Mary Ann (Poly) Mires. Martin Crantham (uncle-in-law), with John Lewis Beard, gave f200 bond as her guardian. vii. Lucy Myers. Her brother Henry was appointed her guardian. She married Joseph Abbott 17 Feb 18 13 with Abraham Jacobs as bondsman and John Giles as a witness. viii. Michael III Myers, born 1793, was the charge of his brother Henry and of Theodore McKee.
