MARRIAGES

MILLER—PLANT.—On the 11th July, at Nuriootpa, by the Rev. John Hannay, George John Miller, to Ellen Elizabeth, eldest daughter of Mr. William Plant. ^[3]

He passed away 13 Aug 1909 in Broken Hill, New South Wales. ^[4]

Two old residents of the Barrier have died. Mr. S. S. Ferguson, blacksmith, and Mr. George J. Miller, a collector. Mr. Ferguson, who was aged 58, was a native of the Burra, and arrived at the Barrier in 1880. His widow has been blind for the past 20 years. Mr. Miller, although he was recently in the hospital, died suddenly at home. He fell off a chair, and expired almost immediately. Mr. Miller was at one time a mounted constable in South Australia, and had been orderly to the State Governor. ^[5]
