When Martha Miller was born in 1745 in Virginia, her father, Stephen, was 49, and her mother, Johanna, was 30. She married Philip Dold on February 24, 1767, in New Hanover, Pennsylvania. They had eight children in 15 years. She died in 1782 in her hometown at the age of 37.
