Biography

James was born about 1823 to James Millar and Janet Paton and baptised 21 Nov 1823 in Dunfermline, Fife. [1]

He married Marion Roy Somerville, 29 Dec 1844 in Dunfermline. [2]

He was enumerated in the 1851 Scotland Census Visiting the home of George Spowart another damask weaver. James was a 27 year old damask weaver and had his wife Marion also 27 along with 10 month old William with him on the visit. [3]

James passed away 10 Apr 1905 in Lumphinans with the death registered in Ballingry, Fife.[4]

He was a weaver at the time when he and Marion married. He was listed as a coal miner on his wife's death record in 1893
