Note: The Payne County, Oklahoma Newsletter reports that on August 18, 1893, Mrs. O.M. Eyler returned home from a 2 month visit to her old home in Illinois.
On the 1910 census, Philapena says she has had 7 children and only 4 are still living.
The Mt. Sterling Democrat Message (Illinois) reported the death of Mrs. Caroline Axel in the issue of July 20, 1912. It noted that Caroline was a sister of Mrs. O.M. Eyler of Stillwater, Oklahoma. It further noted that Caroline was born in Holmberg, Germany.
Philapena, also known as Phena died after being bed ridden for about 2 years. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Episcopal Church with burial in Fair Lawn Cemetery.
