20 February 1843 - Marriage
Thomas Milton of Parish of O'Connell Plains married Hannah (Burton) Milton also of Parish of O'Connell Plains on the 20th February 1843. Both signed with their mark X. The marriage certificate states that they were married 'In this place of Worship, Parish of Bathurst, in the County of Bathurst'. They were married by BANNS. The officiating Minister was Thomas Sharpe, Chaplain with the Church of England. Witnesses were Thomas Rose, of O'Connell Plains, and John Clark of O'Connell Plains. Consent was given by her Mother and Friends. [2]
20 February 1843 - Baptism of their daughter Caroline
Thomas and Hannah's daughter Caroline was born prior to their marriage on the 10th of December 1842. According to the Baptism Certificate, Caroline was baptised the same day her parents were married. [3]
1859 - Death
Thomas Milton died on the 27th of February 1859 at Bara Creek, via Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia. According to the death certificate, he was aged 46 years and his occupation was listed as 'Carrier'. The informant was his wife Hannah Milton. No marriage details or children were written on the certificate, these columns were left blank. It has been recorded on his death certificate that his place of birth was "Ireland". [4]
Burial
Accord to his Death Certificate Thomas Charles Milton was buried on the 1st March at Lawsons Creek by undertaker Michael Welsh. The Rev Gurney from the Church of England was the Minister and M. Conolly and D. Gleeson were witnesses to the burial. [5] On the Australian Cemetery Index website the cemetery is recorded as Havilah Catholic Cemetery, Lue Road near Mudgee. [6]

Death from the bite of a centipede on Tuesday 22nd. A man named Milton living about 20 miles from Mudgee was bitten on the wrist whilst in the act of loading a dray with shingles. On Sunday evening, Mr. Ramsey was sent for and on arriving found the patient in a state of collapse, Inflammation had extended along the arm to the shoulder then to the chest & abdomen. He was suffering acute pain and died of Peritonitis the same evening, leaving a large family of children. [10]
