When William Anderson Mingea was born on November 9, 1835, in Athens, Alabama, his father, Micajah, was 24 and his mother, Jane, was 22. He married Louisa H. Eckerburger on September 3, 1860, in Limestone, Alabama. He died on February 11, 1880, in his hometown at the age of 44, and was buried there.
