Biography

Margaret was born May 1870 in Laurel County, Kentucky.^[1] She was the daughter of Andrew Mink (abt.1824-abt.1887) and Margaret Whitt.^[2] In the 1870 Census, Margaret was living with her parents and siblings. In the census, Margaret is 4 years old which would make her year of birth 1866. Her father Andrew was born in Kentucky, no occupation is listed for him. Her mother was born in North Carolina, her occupation was keeping house.

Margaret married William Zachariah Adams (1869-1956) on 11 June 1889 in Laurel County, Kentucky.^[3] In this union 8 children were born but only 7 grew to adulthood.

In the 1910 Census Margaret was living in Stepping Rock, Laurel County, Kentucky, USA; caring for her 7 children and her husband William that worked as a farmer.^[4]

On 30 March 1913 Margaret passed away at the age of 42 in East Bernstadt, Laurel County, Kentucky, USA. ^[5][6]

Research Notes

1900 Census has Margaret's birth month as May and the year as 1870. According to the 1870 United States Federal Census, she was age 4, birth year was 1866. The 1910 Census has her birth year as 1871. There is a tombstone on Williams Find a Grave memorial, instead of having Margaret's birth year on it, it has the year she got married.
