Augusta Helen Missen and her twin sister Mary were born on 8 June 1907 in Wanganui, New Zealand, their father, Percy, was 42 and their mother, Isabella, was 31. She had one brother and two sisters. She died on 5 April 1984 in her hometown at the age of 76, and was buried there.
