In the 1851 census Martha (age 6), Farmer's Daur, was the daughter of George Mitchel in Upper Boyndlie, Tyrie, Aberdeenshire.[1]
Alexander's marriage to Martha Mitchell was registered in 1873 in the Aberdour (Aberdeen) district.[2]
In the 1891 census Martha (age 44), Gardener Wife, was the wife of Alexander Mowat in Boyndlie Gardeners Cottage, Tyrie, Aberdeenshire.[3]
