Nelly was the daughter of Asa and Mercy (Newton) Mixer
She married as his first wife, Ashbel Allen, son of Israel and Thankful (Greenwood) Allen, on 7 December 1799 at Shrewsbury, Worcester, Massachusetts
After her death Ashbel married Lucy Hemmenway, daughter of Jonas and Sarah (Whitney) Hemmenway, on 8 May 1800 at Shrewsbury, Worcester, Massachusetts
