Moved with parents to Miami CO, OH at age 15 .
Operated Sugar Grove Mill for seven years and then purchase farm known a s the Teague place in Newberry Township. Property was sold to John Teague in exchange for for farm in Franklin Township, Darke CO, OH. Died on th is farm. Jacob was a republican and a devout, German Baptist since 1852.
