Amanda Lovisa Molin was the daughter of shoemaker Lars Molin in Öje and his wife Anna Kajsa Norlin. She was born in Järvsö parish 20 September 1869.[1]
Amanda Lovisa grew up with her parents in Järvsö, first in Öje, then in Kyrkbyn.[2][3] Her father died in 1882, when she was thirteen.[4]
In February 1888 Amanda Lovisa went to Söderhamn to serve in the household of painter master Gustaf Alfred Larsson.[5] Then in 1890 she was employed in the household of Klara Fredrika Teulén, owner of a fashion store.[6]
27 November 1892 Amanda Lovisa Molin married lathe operator Laurentius Anders Arvid Holmberg.[7] The couple went to North America in May 1893.[8]
Amanda Louisa Holmberg died in Chicago 8 March 1894.[9] In the census for 1910 we find her husband with a second wife, Marie, and a daughter Edith, born in 1901.[10] So there were no surviving children in common. We wonder if Amanda Louisa died birthing her first child. The timing suggests so - but, of course, this is only a guess.
