Biography
Deputy Sheriff William Garrison Moore, Cumberland Co. Sheriff's Office N.C. end of watch : Monday , May 23, 1921, age 69, Tour of duty:16years.On May21,1921 Deputy Moore succumbed to a gunshot wound received two days earlier when he and the sheriff responded to a report of a man shooting at people. Moore was struck in back and bullet lodged in his stomach.He was survived by his wife and six children.[1]
