Petty Officer Frank Moorewas born on 22nd November 1899 in Croydon, Surrey, England, United Kingdom. [1]

PO Frank Moore was killed in action at Darwin, Northern Territory during the Second World War.
On 27th January 1920 Frank enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy. Attaining the rank of Acting Petty Officer, he was a crew member of the boom-net ship HMAS Kara Kara when he was killed in action during the Japanese bombing of Darwin on 19th February 1942. [3][4] (Note that some references indicate that Frank was a crew member of HMAS Melville and HMAS Kookaburra at the time of his death, neither of which were in Darwin on the fateful day)
Frank Moore's name is located at panel 3 in the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, at the Adelaide River War Cemetery, Adelaide River, Northern Territory and on the Cenotaph in Leichhardt, New South Wales. [5]
