Private John Morehouse Jr. served with 7th Connecticut Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.
Daughters of the American Revolution
John Morehouse Jr. is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A080195.

John Jr., son of John & Ruth (Barlow) Morehouse, was baptized September 19, 1714. John jr married Mary Stewart. dau of James Stewart of Norwalk. [1]

  1. John bapt 14 Aug 1737 died young
  2. Uriah, born 1739, died 1827 (who married Sarah Wheeler; his only child was John, Capt., born l776, father of the late John G. of Fairfield, Conn.)
  3. Mary bapt 4 Oct 1741 married 26 Nov 1778 to Isaac Lewis of Stratford
  4. Jesse bapt 9 Oct 1743, died 8 Aug 1762 in 19 yr (gravestone)
  5. Sarah bapt 20 Oct 1745 died about 1780 married June 1776 to Samuel Wheeler of Stratford
  6. Elizabeth bapt 11 Sep 1747 married James Kirtland they resided Cornwall in 1793
  7. William, born 3 Jan 1750 (pension record), died 1824 who had sons William Jr. and Stephen.
  8. Ruth bapt 3 Sept 1758 married 11 Sep 1794 to Nathan Perry of Greenfield

John jr's will dated 25 Dec 1780 was proved 1 Aug 1785,[3] mentions wife "Mary, 2 grandsons Samuel and John Wheeler, sons of deceased dau Sarah Wheeler, 3 dau: Mary wife of Isaac Lewis, Elizabeth, wife of James Kirtland and Ruth Morehouse, 2 sons Uriah and William Morehouse. Distribution approved 1799 to Uriah and William Morehouse, Elijah Lewis, son and heir of Mary late wife of Isaac Lewis, Ruth wife of Nathan Perry.

His inventory was completed on 11 December 1785 in Fairfield.[4]
