Linsford b. 1708 moved to Orford, NH from Lebanon, Ct., with his second wife, Mary Curtis and sons: Solomon b. 1749 and John b. 1750 about 1772. The way had been paved by Israel Morey, Linsford's son by Sarah Dewey. Linsford built a house which still stands. The Moreys soon owned considerable property.

Source: Thanks to the Past, Alice Doan Hodgson; Orford Census 1771; Deed dated 7 July 1800 and recorded the next day, Mary (her X mark) Morey of Orford, late wife of Linsford late of said Orford deceased sold 2 river lots in Orford being lots 20 and 21, for $1200 to Daniel Tillotson of Orford, yeoman. John was able to retrieve this property in 6 months. Solomon sold his inheritance rights to John.

Mary is buried in the same cemetery as Linsford in Orford.
