Biography

Adelaide was born in 1837 in London, Middlesex, England. She was the daughter of Southwark-born merchant Thomas Morgan and his wife Elisabeth.[1]

She had an older sister Frances and an older brother Aaron, who went on to be Rector of Bradley in Lincolnshire, Great Casterton, and Pickworth in Rutland..[2]

In the 1851 census Adelaide (age 14) was the scholar of Jane Forbes in Kensington, Middlesex, England.[3]

In the 1861 census Adelaide (age 24) was the unmarried daughter of Thomas Morgan in Brighton, Sussex, England.[4]

Adelaide, daughter of Thomas Morgan, married Rev John James Beresford on 18 May 1865 at St Nicholas' Church, Brighton, Sussex, England.[5] The marriage was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1865 in the Brighton district.[6]

Adelaide's son Richard Augustus Agincourt Beresford was baptised on 5 September 1869 in Castor, Northamptonshire, England.[7]

In the 1871 census Adelaide (age 34), Clergymans Wife, was the wife of John J Beresford in Milton, Northamptonshire, England.[8]

Adelaide's son John Davys Beresford was baptised on 6 April 1873 in Castor, Northamptonshire, England.[9]

In the 1881 census Adelaide (age 44) was the wife of Rev John J Beresford, the Rector of Castor, in Castor, Northamptonshire, England.[10]

In the 1891 census Adelaide (age 54) was a married wife in Castor, Northamptonshire, England.[11]

John passed away in 1897. Adelaide was in a record relating to his probate on 20 August 1897 in Peterborough, Peterborough, England.[12]

Adelaide's death (age 65) was registered in the Jul-Aug-Sep quarter of 1902 in the Docking district.[13]
