Dave Morganfield is a part of US Black heritage.

David Morganfield was born about 1850. He was the grandfather of Muddy Waters.

David married Mahala Byrd in 1881.^[1]

Widower David Morganfield, left Birmingham, Alabama at the turn of the twentieth century with sons, Ollie, Eddie, and Lewis. They moved to the poorest region in the nation's poorest state.^[2]

David died in 1913.^[3]
