Research Notes

Ada Silliker Noftall was born out of wedlock to Belle Silliker Morrell. She was never a Morrell. Ada's birth date ranged from 1896 (in her family genealogy record), to her official date on her immigration card to USA as Oct 8, 1898. The birth records were lost in a fire at the town hall in O'Leary, PEI, Canada. [PEI did not have birth records until much later; the only records at the time she was born would be a baptismal record] She said she was born in 1898, her mother (Belle) said she was born in 1896. Ada died Jan 21, 1961 in Bath, Maine, USA, Ada went to St. Mary's Church in Bath, Maine.

Belle Silliker did not sue the father of her child for support under PEI's Seduction Act - it isn't out of the question that John was her father.
